Information for those attending the East Georgia Marching Band Festival
Detailed schedule of events
Buses and equipment trucks will enter through Blue Devil Alley off US Hwy 80
Look for the blue and white directional signs. You will be escorted to the bus and equipment parking area.
Spectators/all other vehicles will enter through Lester Road off of US Hwy 80
We are selling American’s Finest Chocolate throughout the rest of the season. Chocolate can be checked out after school to the parents. Please see Mr. Collins. Monies raised go toward new equipment (drum line) and general operating fund.
Water - we continue to need donations of water. Any donations are appreciated. Water can be dropped at the band room any time during the week.
Concessions – we will need volunteers, as always. Come join us and get to know the other band parents. Support our MBD (Marching Blue Devils) Call time for Concessions is 5:00 pm. Please remember that if you signed a commitment form at the beginning of the year to work for some of the band fees, the number of events in almost half over. Please be sure that you’re signed up to complete your commitment. For those that have completed, we hope you’ll continue to come and work with us and enjoy supporting the MBD.
Pre-paid concession meal tickets – we are offering pre-paid concession meal tickets to our MBD members. The cost is $6 per ticket. Tickets must be purchased before the end of the school day on each home game day. Individuals are responsible for their own tickets and no replacement tickets will be issued. Meals include the following
Choice of a hamburger, cheeseburger or hot dog
A 20 oz drink
A sweet item
Tickets may be redeemed at the Visitor’s (South) Concession Stand behind the band bleachers.
October 25- East Georgia Marching Band Festival - We host this festival at SHS. All band parents are needed to help staff this event. It’s an all day event. Set up begins at 8 am. The event will end around 10 pm with cleanup to follow. There are plenty of jobs for everyone. All jobs will be posted in Charms shortly.
We are currently selling ads for the festival program. Forms can be obtained by emailing me or seeing Mr. Collins. We appreciate any ads that you may secure.
October 31 – Football away against Glynn Academy. Chaperons are needed for this trip. Please sign up in Charms Water donations are needed for this trip and can be dropped at the band room at any time.
November 1 – Marching Mustang Classic, South Effingham High School. Call time to be announced based on performance time. Chaperons are needed for this trip. Please sign up in Charms. Water donations are needed for this trip and can be dropped at the band room at any time.
November 7 - Football – home against Effingham County. Senior Night We will need more volunteers than normal for this game. Senior parents will be on the field with the Seniors at the beginning of the game.
Band Boosters general meeting October 14, 6:30 pm, Band Room. Please make plans to attend. We will be talking about details for the Festival on October 25.
